French venue business Viparis has recently appointed two senior executives, which reflect the organisations from which it was created earlier in the year.
Viparis was formed following the merger of the convention and exhibition activities of The Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) and Unibail-Rodamco. The new appointments are that of Jean-Yves Durance as chairman and Renaud Hamaide chief executive officer.
Durance was previously vice-president in charge of conferences and exhibitions for CCIP, while Hamaide has been general manager of Paris Expo since its inception (as an affiliate of Unibail, then of Unibail-Rodamco).
Viparis now owns and operates nine major venues in the Paris region. These include Paris Porte de Versailles, Paris Nord Villepinte, Paris Le Bourget, Le Palais des Congrès de Paris, Cnit Paris La Défense, Espace Grande Arche, Espace Champerret, Les Salles du Carrousel, Le Palais des Congrès de Versailles.
