American political and economic commentator Ben Stein is desperately frustrated by the US Treasury’s stance on meetings and conferences. Following his address at the recent MPI World Education Congress, he tells James Latham exactly why.

  • Thanks for articulating the value of meetings. As a former Event Strategist for IBM, I can say that meetings and conferenences drive over 70% of IBM's lead pipeline. In fact, IOD 2008 created $26M in Q4 revenue for Data Management, and despite challenging economic conditions, allowed IBM to beat earnings expectations and deliver record revenues. IOD 2009 was just as crucial to closing deals.
