NewcastleGateshead has been picked by the UK’s conference industry leaders to host the ABPCO (Association of British Professional Conference Organisers) annual conference 2008.

The conference is set to attract around 30 to 40 of the UK’s top professional conference organisers and will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase NewcastleGateshead’s conference infrastructure to a key audience.

Commenting on the conference win, Jessica Roberts, head of business tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “This is a fantastic development for business tourism in NewcastleGateshead. ABPCO is the leading membership organisation for professional conference organisers and its members are currently responsible for around 3500 conferences and events that take place each year. They have influence over a huge section of the events industry in the UK and are the top professionals in their field.
