The China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM – www.cibtm.com), which takes place from 8-10 September 2009 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing, has attracted a number of new, high profile exhibitors.
Taiwan and Kempinski Hotels have recognised the business potential in exhibiting at CIBTM. Meanwhile, Macau has doubled its stand space and the Philippines Department of Tourism, Thailand, Kenya Airways, Hawaii, Vienna, Barcelona, Hawaii Convention Bureau, Hotel Reservations Services and Charles Drewe Associates have all committed to returning to the event in 2009.
Significantly, a number of leading Middle East destinations are also expected to participate as airlift between the regions international hubs increases.
Exhibition director Graeme Barnett, said: “The legacy of this summer’s Olympic Games ensures Beijing now has all the assets of a world-class meetings and incentives destination. My recent visit to the city confirmed my view that CIBTM 2009 will be a celebration of what Beijing and China has to offer international meetings & incentive planners.
“Having experienced first-hand the excellent new Beijing International Airport facility, a number of the new five-star hotel properties, the Olympic Green venues and, of course, our new venue for CIBTM, the China National Convention Center, I am convinced Beijing and CIBTM are set for a very bright future.
“CIBTM 2009 has already generated significant interest amongst potential exhibitors in Europe, Asia and across China – from hotels, venues and destinations to airlines, DMCs and event service providers. Unsurprisingly, we have also received record numbers of applications for the Hosted Buyer programme. We are looking forward, even ten months out of show, to our best and most successful CIBTM.”
