About Us
Who we are
Eventia is recognised as the official trade body of the events and live marketing industry providing leadership and representation on important issues to Government, regulators and the corporate community. The association was created in January 2006, following the merger between two complementary trade associations: the Corporate Events Association (CEA) and the Incentive Travel & Meetings Association (ITMA). The British Association of Conference Destinations (BACD) was subsumed into Eventia from January 2009.
Eventia promotes the highest standards of professionalism and best practice in the industry. All members of the association adhere to a Code of Practice which governs the spirit and method of all commercial activities and conduct of business.

Provide a platform for development of standards and best practice throughout the industry
Lobby government for change in legislations affecting our industry

Our members
Categories of membership are:
Event Organiser Members: UK-based companies that organise events taking place either overseas or in the UK
Partner Members: Companies trading in the UK that provide services to Event Organisers
British Destination Members: Conference Offices or Convention Bureaux in the UK whose primary roles are marketing and the provision of event support services
National Tourist Offices: NTOs provide services to event organisers, their main purpose being to promote individual regions, generate interest and encourage busienss into their area
Overseas Partner Members: Companies trading from addresses outside the UK that provide services to Event Organisers
Affiliate Members: Organisations, bodies, associations or academic institutions whose activities are complementary to the objectives of Eventia
Freelance Members: Self-employed individuals providing freelance services to Event Organisers
