Hotel booking agents, hotels and venues are set to debate the latest industry topics at the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) Annual Forum 2009, which will take place from 10-11 September at the Barcelo Hinckley Island.

The focus for 2009 targets communication techniques within the sector, from maximising online presence to the growing phenomenon of social networking and how it is reflected in the meetings and accommodation arenas.

The HBAA Forum draws figureheads from agencies, venues and hotels, both within the UK and internationally. The Forum provides an opportunity for HBAA members (agents) and partners (hotels and venues) to discuss, debate and define industry trends and best practice.

The HBAA Forum will also be the backdrop for the association’s annual awards.  The HBAA Awards reward professionals who have excelled in their field and help to provide a benchmark for best practice among booking agents, hotels and venues. Four categories are presented: Training & Development; Promoting Excellence within the Industry; Commitment within the Community; and Best Environmental Practice.

“The HBAA Annual Forum is the voice for the whole association, as it brings together representatives from the broad spectrum in which we work – from dedicated training centres, to iconic venues and chain and independent hotels,” said HBAA Chairman Steve Ockerby.

Members will be able to register for the HBAA Forum from early July 2009.
