Members of the Unique Venues of London (UVL) network of venues saw the number of Christmas events rise and generate over £30 million to the capital’s economy during the Christmas party season 2007, twice the figure for 2006.

Lisa Hatswell, chairman of UVL and corporate sales manager at BA London Eye, commented: “We are delighted to see more and more corporate clients choose UVL to hold their Christmas events. We offer an astounding range of diverse and appealing venues which should match the needs of any event organiser.

“This is an encouraging trend for our member venues. Organisers are looking to hold events that truly inspire, and the way to do that is to have bigger budgets to create exciting and engaging events and to encourage more people to attend. Choosing a unique venue will ensure high attendance levels, therefore delivering significant returns on the client’s investment.”

UVL is a collection of unusual venues in London, reflecting the spirit, tradition and cosmopolitan nature of the city. Venues range from the small and intimate, such as Leighton House and The Fan Museum, to the grandest of places like Syon Park and HMS Belfast.

UVL will be on stand L101 at International Confex, Earls Court, 12-14 February 2008.
