EVENTS:review Goes Global
02/09/2009 by Ian Whiteling
From today, the innovative video-led web channel EVENTS:review will be extending its reach internationally, as it merges with its global sister web channel MEETINGS:review, which hitherto has focused on meetings, conference and incentive travel worldwide.
The new channel, will cover the entire global meetings and events industry, providing key insight for those holding meetings, conferences and incentive events for staff and stakeholders, as well as corporate marketers and marketing agencies using events to engage with consumers, from experiential campaigns to exhibitions.
There will also be the latest news on business travel, as this sector plays a vital role in the global meeting and events industry.
For MEETINGS:review viewers, it’s business as usual, plus additional key insight into the global events industry as a whole. EVENTS:review viewers, meanwhile, will get the usual mix of meetings and events news and insight, but on a global scale.
“Our aim since the launch of EVENTS:review in 2006 was always to create a global brand for the live marketing sector, covering both internal and external communications, to show how effective face-to-face engagement is as a marketing tool – whether to motivate, train, attract and retain employees or to engage directly with customers, both business and consumer,” explained joint editor in chief Ian Whiteling.
“To do this effectively, it was necessary to connect with the sector of the meetings and events industry that thinks in a truly global way: the corporate organiser and planner. MEETINGS:review has achieved this in just over a year, creating a global platform that we can now spread across the whole industry. It now makes perfect sense to combine both resources into a global entity.”
Viewers will continue to receive the trademark weekly e-alerts, with details of all that’s new for that particular week, but now there’ll be one combined version rather than two, and these will be despatched every Wednesday – so stand by your inbox! The database of the two channels will be brought together to create a single weekly global e-alert circulation of around 100,000.
“We believe all elements of the industry can learn from each other, and from other countries and regions,” added joint editor in chief Pete Roythorne, “and we will be producing a truly global resource that should be invaluable to anyone involved in organising any kind of meetings and events.”
Please ensure you have set your email filters to receive from 'MEETINGS:review' to ensure you receive your weekly news alerts.
