Conference Cambridge – Cambridge University’s official, free venue-finding service – is one of the first event organisations in the UK to receive a national award for excellence from the Meetings Industry Association (MIA).
Accreditation by MIA is given in recognition of demonstrating good practice across a number of key areas involved in arranging a broad spectrum of events, from training seminars to academic conferences.
The Ten Point Code produced by MIA includes dealing with clients and suppliers in a professional manner, communicating in a clear and open way, taking accurate briefs, providing detailed quotations and complying with appropriate health and safety measures.
Commeting on the achievement, Kelly Walsh, office manager at Conference Cambridge, said: “We are delighted to have been successfully accredited by MIA which sets a code of good practice for everyone involved in event organisation in the UK. Meeting these stringent criteria is very important to us as well as our clients, who can feel confident that Conference Cambridge complies with the highest industry standards and that they will receive a first-class service."
Conference Cambridge was established in 1998 and represents 35 venues, including 28 Cambridge colleges, as well as university sites, faculty buildings, Cambridge University Press and the Moller Centre. A total of 550 function rooms and 6,500 bedrooms are available.
