The Business
ExCeL London is one of the UK's premier venues for conferences, exhibitions, sporting and cultural events. A popular venue for large international events such as The London Summit 2009 and Gastro UEGW/WCOG London 2009 (the largest medical congress ever to come to London), ExCeL London is set to attract even more global conferences with the opening of its much anticipated international convention centre on 1st May 2010.
Endorsed by London’s mayor, Boris Johnson, the city’s first ever international convention centre comprises a 5000-seat auditorium, the UK’s largest banqueting hall and a conference suite for up to 2,500 delegates, all with easy access to the venue’s existing, award-winning facilities.
Location
The venue is located within one of the world’s largest regeneration projects – and key financial hubs – London Docklands. This vibrant, new and exciting area of London boasts an enviable transport infrastructure and features fabulous waterside restaurants, shops, hotels and social venues such as the O2, Europe’s leading entertainment destination.
Holding its own against the West End, this ‘real’ London to the east of the city, manages to effortlessly blend super-cool cosmopolitan chic with the traditional and cultural diversity the East End is famed for. The vast Thames Gateway project and of course its choice as a 2012 Olympic venue being testament to the importance placed on this exciting and fast growing area of London.
And just 5 minutes from London City Airport (serving all major European cities and with connecting flights to North America) and within easy reach of Central London and the West End by road or public transport, the venue is easy to reach. .
