The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) was established in 1989 as a merger of the Caribbean Tourism Association (founded in 1951) and the Caribbean Tourism Research and Development Centre (founded in 1974). It is an international development agency functioning under Headquarters Agreement with the Government of Barbados, where its headquarters is located. Is also is a marketing operation in the tourism generating markets. CTO’s responsibilities are region-wide and embrace both public and private sector members. CTO is made up of 33 Governments and 24 private sector organizations.

The Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) is dedicated to fostering excellence in hospitality, leadership in marketing and sustainable growth in tourism, to the benefit of its members and that of the wider Caribbean community. CHA was founded in 1962; it is the voice of the Caribbean hospitality industry for the development of the region in the highly competitive and sophisticated environment of international
tourism. Today, tourism is widely recognized as a pivotal industry in the economy of the region -
CHA functions as the common denominator for this industry in a region of diverse nationalities, languages
and styles, identifying mutual problems and marshalling the resources of the active and allied members to
devise solutions. CHA represents all facets of the hospitality industry with more than 1000 member hotels,
and 750 allied members.

Burba Hotel Network (BHN) brings together more than two decades of experience in developing and organizing the world’s most prominent gatherings of the hotel and tourism investment community. At these events, over 50 conferences completed, the investment community has come together to network, conduct
business and to learn about the latest trends. They have become ‘must attend’ events for those interested in
hospitality real estate. In addition to CHTIC, which has become the Caribbean region’s premiere event, annual conferences BHN organizes include: The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) in Los Angeles; the annual International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin; the Bolsa Mexicana de Inversion Turistica (BMIT) in Mexico and the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) in Hong Kong. BHN works in an alliance with intelliMeet to provide facilitation and leading edge electronic meeting support for retreats and conferences in the hospitality industry. Facilitated meetings can be held on site, via the Internet, or both.
The BHN website at www.burba.com is the gateway for information about the conferences BHN produces, as
well as a direct link to important players in the hospitality investment world. At BHN, we believe in the power of Connecting People… Connecting Thoughts.
