Group exhibition director at Reed Travel Exhibitions Paul Kennedy this week announced meetings and incentive event EIBTM 2008 a record show, with a net growth of 9% on 2007.
As the door opened this week, he said: “The show has grown consistently over the last four years. We are set to welcome around 3,700 international hosted buyers and with 51,000 pre-scheduled appointments arranged the next three days, this is the place to do business.”
He added: “What is particularly pleasing, in challenging times for the industry, is that exhibitors are already requesting their space for next year proving that the meetings industry is an extremely resilient one. There is absolutely no to need talk ourselves into a crisis.”
Confirming that EIBTM would be staying in Barcelona for a further five years, Kennedy highlighted the fact that, since the event had moved to the city it had grown by 35% in size. Looking ahead, he believed that EIBTM could grow by a further 15% in coming years.
