A new hotel due to open in Beijing before the 2008 Olympic Games is just one of a number of developments planned in China by Vienna Hotel Group, which currently owns 31 hotels around the country.

Fu Gang, director of the Brand Department of Vienna Hotel Group said the company plans to develop its brands in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin, as well as some domestic provincial capitals, along with major areas of west China by contract lease, franchise cooperation and commission management. The group will also continue to expand in the major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou and aim at second-tier cities around China over the next two years.
