An event bringing together America's leading corporations, government agencies, women business owners and affiliate organisations will take place in October, with the aim of increasing networking and contracting opportunities for enterprises owned and run by women.
The Women's Business Development Center’s (WBDC’s) second annual Conference & Business Expo is this year hosted by Office Depot, and will be held at the company's corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida on 15-16 October 2009.
"We are truly proud to partner with the Women's Business Development Center of Florida in putting on this critically important event for women in business," said Monica Luechtefeld, executive vice president of e-commerce and direct marketing for Office Depot.
"Its mission and approach aligns well with Office Depot's own objective to help our millions of female customers take care of business and succeed."
The WBDC is the regional partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations.
The WBDC provides WBENC national certification to ‘women business enterprises’ (WBEs). WBENC certification provides access to the nation's top corporations and government agencies through its internal vendor diversity programs, and other initiatives dedicated to promoting and assisting WBEs. Office Depot is a Platinum Corporate Sponsor of the WBDC and a strong partner of WBENC.
Participants of the 2009 WBDC Conference & Business Expo will have the opportunity to: take part in one-on-one appointments with participating corporations; attend interactive workshops with leading businesswomen and corporations; learn about women-owned businesses across multiple industries; meet corporate representatives interested in doing business; and network with product vendors.
